The City of Port Arthur (pop. 55,724), located along the Gulf of Mexico, is seeking a Controller. Port Arthur offers its residents and visitors an inviting lifestyle with a “small-town feel,” close to the attractions and amenities of a major urban center with culture, recreation, shopping, and dining for almost any taste. Reporting to the City’s Finance Director, the Controller supports financial operations of the organization, focusing on select city financial auditing affairs, accounts payable and receivable, general accounting, financial reporting, and grants management. The Controller supervises seven employees and serves as a point of contact for external auditors, and federal and state agency auditors in the examination of the city’s financial records.
